Måtte det nye året gi dere alle en god og lodden følelse av glede

"delight is a weak term to express the feelings of a naturalist, who, for the first time, has been wandering by himself in a Brazilian forest".
C.R. Darwin, 1832.

It's going well! I am at the point where, should I happen to meet a monolingual Norwegian in Tennessee (because one stumbles upon monolingual Norwegians daily in the American south), the two of us will be able to have a (very) short conversation. I'm not sure how much it will help them, as it will consist of vague pleasantries, but it's something.

Of course, one of my foremost goals in doing this--to have some grasp of the proper pronunciation of your first name--has yet to be realized.

Also, I have a question I've been meaning to ask you. What year did you graduate UWC? I am almost finished with my application and one question asks if a graduate recommended the school give their name, UWC attended, graduation year, etc. Takk!
